The full story behind Dinara — from an idea I had after a trip to Hamburg, to a live AI health platform with millions of foods and personalised coaching.
Dinara started with a simple frustration: every health app I tried was either a basic calorie counter with no intelligence, or an expensive coaching service that couldn't scale. I wanted something in between — an AI coach that actually understood my health conditions, my recovery, my goals, and could give me genuinely useful advice every day.
Nothing like that existed. So I built it.
Dinara is a full AI health coaching platform. Here's what it includes:
I built Dinara using modern AI development tools alongside established frameworks. The tech stack is Next.js for the frontend, Supabase for the database and authentication, Claude AI for the coaching engine, and Stripe for payments. It runs as a Progressive Web App, which means it works on any device and can be installed on phones like a native app.
The entire build was done solo. No team, no agency, no contractors. Just me, working iteratively — building a feature, testing it, refining it, and moving to the next one.
Start with one thing and make it excellent. I started with just the nutrition tracking. Once that worked well, I added the AI coach. Then workouts. Then health conditions. Each layer built on the last. If I'd tried to build everything at once, I'd still be building it.
AI is incredibly powerful when it has context. Most AI chatbots are generic because they don't know anything about the user. Dinara's AI coach works because it has access to the user's complete health profile. Context makes AI useful rather than just impressive.
Ship fast, iterate faster. The first version of Dinara was rough. But it worked. And real users using it taught me more in a week than I could have learned in months of planning.
